Calatayud Wine

The Calatayud denomination of origin is located in the southwest of Zaragoza, with vineyards that take 10 municipalities, those of Aniñón, Ateca, Calatayud, Cervera de la Cañada, Maluenda, Mara, Miedes, Munébrega, Villaluenga and Villarroya de la Sierra.

The vineyard belonging to the Calatayud DO has a surface of 8,000 hectares on terraces, a wide geographic area which belongs to the valley of the Ebro, surrounded by the mountain formations of the Moncayo mastiff.

Calatayud's most important variety is Tinta Garnacha, then Blanca Macabeo. The types of wines produced are: 52% for red wines, 30% for rosé wines and 18% for white wines. Of all of them, those that stand out are the rosé wines, of a perfumed fragrance and balance between body and acidity.
